My name is Judith Marciante, and I’m an obsessive and compulsive knitter. Yes, that is my confession.
I’ve been knitting since I was quite young, and I come from a long line of knitters and crocheters. My ancestors’ roots go back to the British Isles and Scandanavia, and I like to believe that I channel that heritage through my own love of knitting. As much as I love to knit, I love to teach and inspire others. To me, knitting is love, and I want to share it.
I have spent my professional career in the tech world, designing and coding websites, all the while knitting to keep myself grounded. For the last several years, I have also worked and taught lessons at my local yarn shop in Petaluma, California. It recently closed, and while feeling adrift and at loose ends because of that, I’ve decided to try to do what I can to continue the sense of community and camaraderie that I loved at the shop.
I teach private lessons and small classes in my knitting studio, the Woolshed, and I teach larger group classes at various venues around Petaluma. So, fill out the mailing list form and let me know what your interests are, and please contact me if you are interested in making arrangements for private lessons, and see my class page for scheduled classes.
Starting in early Fall 2019, I’m excited to let you know I’ll be teaching larger classes in my own classroom in a new space that I will share with Lily Reid. We will call our shared space “Judith & Lily” and will feature classes, workshops, trunk shows. and a curated collection of special yarns, tools and handknits. I can’t say more about it yet because it’s still “under wraps” but I can’t wait to tell you all about it! If you want to be notified when we’re open, so please sign up.
